David is the first Mayan to ever leave an indigenous village in Guatemala for the purpose of a medical education that we’re aware of. He is an amazing person and student and has committed to returning to his community and making a difference. He knows the needs of his community. The average lifespan is less than 50 years in these villages. Refrigeration of food storage is nonexistent and there is no plumbing or sanitized, purified water, antibiotics, medications, or access to Doctors. The Kellogg Family Foundation has committed to 50 percent of the total educational expenses to support Medical Training through Great Commision Air. David is excited about the opportunity, and the Foundation is honored to be a part of such a momentous occasion in Guatemala. Upon graduation, we hope to make the trip to honor this occasion.
