The Kellogg Family Foundation has been a proud philanthropy and parenting education partner with LACASA for years. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and every year the LACASA Center’s Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Council hosts its Plant a Pinwheel Celebration to commemorate this month. This year, the community will meet at the Howell Carnegie District Library on April 4 for a presentation on child abuse prevention and to plant a Pinwheel Garden along the library’s entrance. A blue pinwheel was chosen as the national symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention nine years ago by Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA). The pinwheel was chosen because it serves as a reminder that children deserve to have a good childhood and bright future.
The Plant a Pinwheel Campaign is all about creating awareness for this cause. We can improve the lives of every child in our community if we come together. Please join LACASA this April 4 at the Howell Carnegie Library in recognizing Child Abuse Prevention Month and raising awareness about preventing child abuse in our community.
