Military Appreciation Month

May is Military Appreciation Month. The Kellogg Family Foundation proudly supports our Nation’s troops and invite you to take time this month to celebrate and appreciate those who serve, or have served, our country. Throughout the month, every role in every military branch is honored. It is also a month for appreciating the families who stand by and support their serving relatives through thick and thin.

Military Appreciation Month was chosen to fall in May back in 1999 by the U.S. Congress. It was intended as a means to give the public a chance to thank military members and their families for their service. Every year, the President of United States gives a proclamation to honor our armed forces. This speech serves as a reminder of the incredible work these people do for our country. May is also host to several important military days, including Memorial Day.

This month, we suggest taking some time to educate yourself on our military history. If you are a member of our military, you can look up events taking place in your area to honor your service. If you aren’t, you can do your part by making a donation or volunteering your time to a charity that supports our troops!
