Kellogg Family Foundation partnered with Livingston County Veterans, Louis VanCuyle (WWII Veteran and the driving force behind the renovation), and Kellogg Dental for a matching grant day on Flag Day 2013. An event was held at the Kellogg Dental campus. Hot dogs, apple pie, music, Chevrolet cars, and baseball games were provided to commemorate the event. Veterans were offered free professional cleanings if they were in need.

The event took place to remodel and expand the aging Livingston County Veterans Memorial. There was such an outpouring of support from the community for this endeavor that within one hour the initial $10,000 matching grant was achieved. The Kellogg Foundation doubled the challenge and within 2.5 hours $40,000 was raised. By the end of the day over $46,000 was raised to completely fund the total renovation. It was an honor to be a part of such a commemorative occasion to honor all of the soldiers who have served for us and protected our country.

There was a community-wide dedication in the fall attended by over 1,000 people at the memorial.
