Schools in Kalkaska County, like more and more areas of Michigan, could no longer afford a school library—a situation the foundation couldn’t abide.
So we brought back the century-old idea of libraries being the center of the community, and have provided seed funds to build a future-forward, $15 million community library in the center of town.
To support local businesses, we’ve also spruced up downtown Kalkaska with permanent pots of colorful flowers and other streetscape features.
