Livingston County Veterans, led by WW II veteran Louis VanCuyle, set out in 2013 to raise funds to remodel and expand the aging Livingston County Veterans Memorial.
The group teamed up with Dr. Thomas Kellogg to hold a fundraiser at his dental campus on Flag Day. The foundation matched donations dollar-for-dollar, doubling the amount raised. There was such an outpouring of support that the initial $10,000 match was met within an hour. So The Kellogg Foundation kept doubling the challenge until a total of $46,000 was raised, enough to completely fund the renovation.
The foundation was honored to be a part of a community-wide dedication attended by over 1,000 people, a moving occasion to honor the soldiers who have served us and protected our country.
