Child Connect provides services and resources for families and early childhood professionals, including financial assistance to qualifying families, research-based training, a resource library, an annual conference, and professional credentialing.
Howell Teen Center
The foundation partnered with The Hive to create a Cyber Café, with six Wi-fi connected workstations equipped with Microsoft Office for business uses and Adobe Photoshop for creativity. The computers are monitored and protected by sophisticated software to ensure online safety and appropriate use.
Excel Employment Options
Excel Employment Options works to eliminate barriers to employment and bridge the gap between disabled job seekers and employers. The foundation helps support the Independent Living Center in Howell, where counselors work with students to train, adapt, and find solutions to each person’s unique circumstances.
Center for Success
Center for Success, a ministry of The Reverse Church in Pontiac, empowers kids to become all they can be through education, music programs, medical clinics, and more.
Free Dental Day
Free Dental Day brings together dentists, doctors, hygienists, assistants, nurses, and volunteers to provide free cleanings, fillings, and extractions for people without dental insurance who can- not afford the care they need.
Livingston County Red Cross
In 2016, the Michigan Red Cross was downsizing, and the Howell location was on the sell list. Dr. Kellogg believes the organization does so much good work and took action to help keep the Livingston Red Cross up and running. The foundation purchased a building that now serves as the Livingston County Red Cross headquarters, free of charge.
Dental and Missionary Clinics
The foundation has worked with Operation Gratitude and M.O.S.T. Ministries for more than a decade, making grants of over $250,000 to support dental and missionary clinics in underserved parts of the world.
Medical Scholarship
The foundation partnered 50/50 with Great Commission Air to co-sponsor a medical school scholarship, an extension of its ministry to improve the quality of life for people of Mayan descent in rural Guatemala.
Recycle Livington
The Kellogg Family Foundation is a major supporter, donating $171,000 to help secure a permanent building and more advanced equipment for Recycle Livingston’s processing center.
Howell Library Clock
Working with the Howell Carnegie Library, the Foundation funded a landmark clock in front of the library in downtown Howell. The clock was dedicated in 2008 in honor of Edward and June Kellogg’s lifetime of community service.
Flower Empowerment
Downtown Howell looks brighter and more beautiful, thanks to the foundation’s sponsorship of summer and fall flower pots and seasonal décor. By supporting local programs and volunteerism, the foundation helps advance the Downtown Development Association’s efforts to promote and attract people to How- ell’s shops, restaurants, and other businesses.
Livingston County Veterans Memorial
Livingston County Veterans, led by WW II veteran Louis VanCuyle, set out in 2013 to raise funds to remodel and expand the aging Livingston County Veterans Memorial.
Operation Injured Soldiers: Brave Hearts Estate
Operation Injured Soldiers, based in South Lyon, offers recreational and social activities to disabled veterans from all eras to thank them for their service and aid their recovery from injuries sustained during deployments.
